June Eleanor Mattson Johnson, 90, of Bothell, Washington, passed away on March 24, 2013.

June was born on June 16th, 1922, in South Range, Wisconsin, to Julius and Ella Mattson.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Oscar, Louise and Margaret, and her beloved husband, Dean.

She is survived by daughter, Chris Johnson Duke (Marcus), and son Dean “Skip” Johnson (Kris); grandchildren Austin Johnson (Jolene), Dana Fontes (Justin), and Ian Duke; and four great grandchildren: Sydney, Colby, Amara and Joel, and many other loving family members.

She was the touchstone of the family, keeping us all connected by staying in touch with family and friends, near and far. She had so many friends, many acquired in her 17 years of volunteering at the North Shore Senior Center. She was an avid game and card player and crossword puzzle devotee. She was known for her wonderful smile and great kindness, curiosity and love of a good discussion.

She will be missed by many. Donations may be made to North Shore Senior Center, Meals on Wheels, or a charity of your choice. Remembrances may be made at

June and Dean were the best neighbors! I'm sure Dean is waiting at Heaven's gate with the trailer hitched up ready to take June on a road trip. My condolences to Chris, Skip, Kris, Austin and Dana. Your mom and grandmother was a wonderful person.
