Katherine Elizabeth Humiston, 7, beloved daughter of Mark and Sarah, went to be with the Lord on October 21, 2024. Born on October 10, 2017, she was named in honor of her maternal grandmother. “Katie Bee,” as she was later affectionately nicknamed by her family, was a magnificent young lady with a vivacious smile, contagious giggles, and the biggest heart. Katie loved her Lord Jesus Christ and enjoyed attending her family’s church, Taylor Creek. Katie’s mother, Sarah, often described the youngest Humiston child as “the cherry on top.” Katie adored her loving family and spent most of her time playing with her older sister and brothers. She loved making beautiful masterpieces of coloring artwork, watching birds in nature, helping in the kitchen, and singing. She had a profoundly nurturing spirit at her young age and loved other families’ babies and little ones; she also enjoyed helping take care of her family’s pets. Katie shared an adoration of the outdoors with her family and could often be found playing outside on the trampoline, building forts, and boating in the summer with her parents on the lake. She loved reading books and learning and participated with her family at Heritage Homeschool Co-op and Legacy Homeschool Center; she worked very hard at her studies, and consistently received high marks. She was always asking what she could do to help, and she loved listening to music, dancing, and flowers. Katie looked forward to her family’s three-mile evening walks around their Lake Alice neighborhood and kept up a joyful spirit alongside the rest of her older siblings despite her younger age and shorter stride. Katie is survived by her brother Andrew; sister Brielle; maternal grandmother Kathryn Ogden; maternal uncle Joseph Ogden; paternal grandparents Mark and Beverly Humiston; and paternal uncles and aunts Scott and Erin Humiston, and Jose and Emily Humiston Sanchez.
