Ken passed away July 27, 2014 in Edmonds at the age of 92. He was born on March 25, 1922 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and grew up in Seattle. After graduating from Franklin High School, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands during WWII. Ken was married to Olive E. Staats (Brown) for 64 years until Olive’s passing in 2009. Ken spent most of his career in the window and door manufacturing business. In 1961 Ken established Windorco Supply in Seattle; a family run business for 53 years. Ken also owned MC Wood Products located at Paine Field, Everett.
After Ken retired, he remained active the rest of his life. Ken could build or fix anything; he always had a project underway. Ken and Olive enjoyed traveling the world together. Ken was past master of Edmonds Masonic Lodge, a member of Edmonds Sound Singers and Northwest Fly Anglers. He is survived by his son Greg (Barbara), daughter Susanne (Michael) and grandson Jeff. Ken was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and friend. A true gentleman, he was gracious and kind to everyone he met. Ken will be deeply missed. Private interment will be held at Purdy& Walters/Floral Hills.
