On October 1, 2026, Kieth Wiege of Green Valley, Arizona and Anacortes, Washington at 82 years of age took his last trip. A trip out of this world and into the gate of heaven. He was born on September 25, 1944 in Helena, Montana as the only child of Gustave Wiege and Helen Boelke.
His parents moved to North Platte, Nebraska and opened the town’s first A&W Root Beer Drive Inn. Kieth spent several years working at the Drive Inn, along with fishing, hunting, and water skiing.
He received an engineering degree at the University of Wyoming and in His Junior year he married his high school sweetheart Linda O’Dell. He was offered a job at Boeing and after graduation the two moved north to Bothell, Washington. Kieth worked on the 747, 767, and 777 airplane programs and traveled to multiple countries representing Boeing and their aircraft.
Kieth spent many days fishing and crabbing in the beautiful San Juans along with bow hunting, camping, backpacking and enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. As a sports enthusiast he attended many Seahawks, Mariner, and Seattle Sonic games.
In 1995 his wife Linda passed, and in 1999 Kieth married his new best friend and sweetheart Patty Lakey. After 35 years at Boeing Kieth and Patty retired in Anacortes, WA on beautiful Fidalgo Island. Kieth joined the local Kiwanis and the Old Anacortes Rowing and Sailing Society, OARSS- rowing twice a week come rain or snow - wind seemed to be the only obstacle to keep them off the waters surrounding Fidalgo Island. The team, which included several neighbors, enjoyed many boat races and always came home with blue ribbons. They were the only boat registered for their division of four oared twenty-seven foot gig.
Between fishing, golfing, rowing, and traveling Kieth enjoyed and excelled in woodwork from designing scroll saw clock projects up to building a mesquite table, and other wood furniture.
In 2004, Kieth and Patty began spending winters in Green Valley, AZ where Kieth found golf available year-round, abundant sunshine, and no snow to shovel. In 2009 they joined the Gideons International in sharing God’s Word. What started local ended with Kieth traveling to other countries offering God’s Word to those who wanted to know more about our Creator and Savior and His offer of salvation. Kieth took part in the Gideon International Scripture Blitz’s in Ecuador and Malaysia Borneo. From the ages of 78 to 80 he took four three-week trips to Gabon and Guinea, West Africa traipsing into deep dark Africa with the light of Jesus training Gideons and handing out Testaments.
Everywhere Kieth traveled no matter how difficult the roads, sleeping or eating conditions, with no electricity and dangerous travel conditions he trusted Jesus. New friends were made, the Gospel was shared, and the mission was completed. Now his work is over, and Kieth has heard the words, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Kieth is survived and loved by his wife Patty, his children Tracy Fowler, Todd Wiege (Courtney), Trisha Selders (Eric); step-children Bart Burnison, Boe Burnison, and Anna Potter (Dave); grandchildren Brendon, Alyssa, Branson, Wyatt, Nathan, Avalon, August, Margeaux, and Eliza.
