Laura J. Radek of Fall City, Washington passed away peacefully at home on the morning of July 21, 2026, after heroically battling cancer for several years. She was born on Easter Sunday April 17,1960 to Earnest and Margaret Ottoson of Seattle, Washington.
Laura graduated from Shorecrest High School in 1978 and from Seattle Pacific University in 1982 where she studied mathematics and education. She met her future husband, Jeff Radek, in July of 1981 and were married July 11, 1987. She worked for many years in the banking industry before changing careers and becoming an instructional assistant at Eastlake High School in Sammamish. She retired in 2025. She enjoyed many adventures hiking, backpacking and camping throughout the years. She was very involved with her church and recently producing charity quilts. Laura excelled in quilting, sewing and needlepointing. She loved to decorate for the holidays. Laura deeply cherished her family and friends and was loved by all. The people she worked with, she considered friends. Laura was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Jeff, her son, James, her two sisters, Virginia (Taylor) and Karen (Ottoson) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 9041 166th Ave NE, Redmond WA on Saturday August 22, 2026, beginning at 3:30PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either The Cancer Research Institute (CRI) or The Washington Trails Association (WTA).
