Lawrence attended college briefly and served in the Army. On July 17, 1974 he married the love of his life, Karen A. Rehburg. They were blessed with raising three sons, Jeffrey, Samuel and Aaron.
After 40 years as a journeyman electrician, Lawrence retired in 2001. His favorite pastime was racing cars plus building and restoring them.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Dorothy.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Vanyi; sons, Jeffrey (Angie), Samuel (Shannon) and Aaron; brother, Ruben (Ruby) Vanyi; and five grandchildren, T.J., Taylor, Tori, Corey and Emily.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on October 6, 2012 at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, Lynnwood, WA.
