

Lesley Anne (Stauffer) Caveness, age 78, passed away in Seattle, Washington, on December 16, 2025. Lesley was born on January 9, 1947, to Arthur and Grace Stauffer in Bellevue, Washington. While she spent her early years in Chattaroy and Bellevue, she called Bothell home for over 65 years.
A 1965 graduate of Mountlake Terrace High School, Lesley’s life was defined by her devotion to family and her adventurous spirit. She married Dale Caveness in 1971, and together they raised four children. Lesley was a true lover of the Pacific Northwest; she spent much of her free time camping, fishing, and backpacking. Some of her happiest moments were spent wading in the water and watching the sunset at Edmonds Beach or on Whidbey Island every chance she had.
Lesley brought a special magic to every holiday, decorating her home with care and enthusiasm. Christmas was her favorite time of year, she found great joy in the spirit of giving and gathering. Her famous cinnamon roll Christmas tree was the centerpiece of every Christmas breakfast and remains a cherished family memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Grace, and her sister, Ruby Eileen Wegeleben. She is survived by her husband, Dale; her children, Shelli Christensen, Wendi Prater, Jennifer Patterson, and Andrew Caveness; her eight grandchildren, Cory, Kyra, Kaitlin, Hailey, Avery, Nicole, Eliza, and Emily; and her great-grandchildren, Malakye and Astrid.
A graveside service will be held on December 30, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Floral Hills Cemetery, 409 Filbert Rd, Lynnwood, Washington.
