Forever fabulous and forever loved, Marelyn “Chris” Imbler (née McGladrey) completed her extraordinary life on Saturday, November 1st, 2025, from complications of Alzheimer’s. Born in Snohomish on January 2nd, 1944, she was the youngest of three girls. Her early years took her through Washington, Alaska, and Australia before her family ultimately returned to the greater Seattle area — the place she would call home for the rest of her life.
Chris met her first husband, Boyd, in high school, and the two married in 1964. Four years later, they welcomed her son, Travis, whose energy and spirit added new excitement to her life (and continued to do so for all of his). As the years went on, Chris became known for her creativity, sharp intelligence, and a laugh that could brighten even an ordinary day.
In 1984, Chris married David Imbler, beginning a chapter that would span more than four decades. Together they shared a supportive, joyful, and enduring marriage grounded in humor, partnership, and mutual respect.
Chris valued adventure from the beginning and carried that spirit with her throughout her life. She cherished the many places she visited and the memories she gathered along the way. She was the ultimate matriarch — loving, supportive, witty, strong, and unapologetically herself. Her legacy is one of resilience, humor, honesty, and the reminder to live boldly and with heart.
Chris will be forever loved by her husband of 40 years, David; her sisters, Judy and Sally; her granddaughters, Shaleena (and great-grandsons Tyler and Travis) and Christina; her stepson, Jeff; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who adored her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Dorothy McGladrey; her son, Travis; and other loved ones.
The family invites you to celebrate her extraordinary life — and she’d want it done in style.
