Margaret “Lynn” Nowelati, a beloved resident of Mill Creek, Washington, passed away on May 26, 2026, just shy of her 78th birthday. Known for her razor-sharp wit and infectious humor, Lynn was a woman who never met a stranger she couldn't charm or a topic she couldn't debate.
Born in Ohio on June 3, 1948, Lynn carried the steadfast values of her Midwestern roots throughout her life. In 1981 she, her husband, Ziad, and daughter, Lena made the cross-country move from Michigan to Washington state when he was recruited as an engineer for the Boeing Company. They eventually settled in Mill Creek, where they built a beautiful home and garden.
Professionally, Lynn dedicated 30 years to a successful career in the printing industry. However, her most cherished "job" began in 2002, when she retired to devote herself to caring for her granddaughter, Hannah. This began a beautiful chapter of shared adventures, including frequent antiquing trips, attending jump rope tournaments, and countless shared family meals.
She found joy in listening to jazz, the thoughtful reporting of National Public Radio, and the strategy of a good Mahjong game. A social butterfly at heart, she loved shopping, socializing, and was always the life of the party. Her home was often a hub of holiday cheer, as she took great pride in decorating and welcoming others.
Beyond her hobbies, Lynn was a deeply engaged citizen. She kept a keen eye on current events and was always ready for a spirited discussion on the latest headlines.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Ziad Nowelati, who passed away in 2008. She is survived by her daughter, Lena, born in 1970, Jacob her son-in-law and her beloved granddaughter Hannah, who will forever carry the lessons and laughter Lynn shared with her.
