Born Mary Lou Schmidt on January 24, 1948, in Battle Creek, Iowa, most lovingly known throughout her life by Maricka Okita, passed away peacefully on April 29th. She was the daughter of Lavern Schmidt and Bernice Hayworth. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph “Pat” Patterson.
Maricka is survived by her devoted son, Kris Okita, and his wife, Angie Okita; her brother, L. Paul Schmidt; and her nephew and nieces, Brad Comley, Heidi Panichello, and Heather Shelton.
Maricka's life took a profound turn on November 7, 1976, when she welcomed Jesus into her heart. From that moment forward, she lived as a woman deeply rooted in her Christian faith, believing that the goodness she experienced in life was a direct result of the mercy and grace of the One, True God of the Holy Trinity

A visitation for Maricka will occur Friday, May 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA 98036. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM with a graveside service at 12:00 PM
