Brad and I want to share what a bright light that Marie brought into our lives and the neighborhood. From always greeting us at the mailbox, greeting us as we worked in our yards, and waving to us as she drove by to chatting it up with Sherry as she worked on weed pulling in the ditch across the street from Marie and Scott's. Marie was a neighborhood watch person who always alerted us to things that could cause us harm if we were not aware of them. In addition, we loved the knocks on our door when she would bring over fish that they had got on fishing trips. Such a sad situation to have someone like Marie leave us so early in her life. She will always be remembered. Love to the family and friends. We are always here for you. 

I can't think of my friend, Marie, without smiling. All of my memories are of time spent together in high school thinking up shenanigans! Marie spent time with my sister, Kim, and I at our home. We had the bedroom downstairs so we could play our music loud and laugh at our little skits. Most of the stories I remember I probably shouldn't share 🤣
After high school we kind of drifted apart. I appreciate in the last couple years Marie reaching out and catching up on our families with some phone calls and texts and the thoughtful birthday card she sent.  
I will always cherish my memories with Marie. She was smart, funny and adventerous. I feel like she has left us too soon. My condolences to her family. 

I'd like to extend my sincerest condolences to Marie's family.  Marie was one of my best friends in high school for awhile. We drifted apart for no good reason, and I regret that we didn't keep in touch. The news of her passing pulls at my heart strings, and memories come flooding back. She would pick me up and take me to school in her Pinto! She introduced me to late night snacks such as Fritos dipped in mayonnaise. She inspired me to pay a little more attention to Elton John's music. As a result I know every word to some of his songs. She took me to La Conner on a fishing trip with her dad. We rode in the camper in the bed of his pick up. At one point Marie was resting her back against the door. It suddenly swung open. Her upper body stuck out the back before she was able to pull herself back in. She didn't show much emotion, so I always wondered if she did it on purpose, or if she was so shocked she didn't react. She was good at entertaining her friends. We worked at a shotgun range together.  We would go to Taco Time for lunch. I can picture her with a spicy, fried burrito in one hand, and a napkin in the other.  After each bite she would dab the sweat forming above her eyebrows.  On school days we would often get blackberry milkshakes at the Ranch. Anyway, I always enjoyed Marie's company and think of her as a beautiful, creative, talented, resourceful and intelligent friend.  May she rest in peace. ❤️

Deepest condolences to Scott and family for their loss.  Marie has been our next door neighbor for years and someone who took such pride in her home and garden.  Her strength of character showed in smaller ways around her home BUT especially in her determination to perseverE.

We will miss her so.

I've been thinking a lot about when my sister Sarah and I were just wee sprogs in the 1970's and Marie would come stay with us in LaConner for the bulk of summers--and all the fishing, boating in the San Juans and beachcombing we did together. Marie could always catch fish 3 times her size, and did the one thing that makes a kid feel most loved--she spent time with us. Her sense of humor was always evident and I am pretty sure I wouldn't still be here had she not fished me out of the rapids on the river in Chehalis when I was in 7th grade. Always loved and now always missed. Thank you for being who you were, my dear Aunt Marie.
