Marilyn JoAnn Fetrow – Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend bravely left this life at the age of 75 on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. She taught us all how to fight the good fight with grace, dignity and the utmost tenacity. In the past forty years she has endured numerous reoccurrences of lymphoma, endured Crohn’s disease, met MDS head-on and saw leukemia invade her fragile but unyielding body. She was always brave and had a smile for everyone.
Born January 26, 1937 in Quinter, Kansas to Leslie and Alma Frost. She grew up in Mankato, Kansas where she has cherished and nurtured many lasting friendships. She leaves behind a close circle of friends from her high school graduating class of 1955, who have remained in touch over the years. Two sisters, one brother and many nieces and nephews across the country were very near and dear to her. She loved you all!
Married William V. Fetrow on April 1, 1956 – This was no April Fools’ Joke! Their marriage of 55 years is a never ending love story. Their unwavering dedication and complete and utter love for one another was an inspiration to all.
Together they nurtured and raised their sons William Vance Jr. Fetrow of Everett, Alan Fetrow (wife Linda) of Snohomish and daughter Jill Skold (husband David) of Snohomish. That love and nurturing did not stop there…Marilyn was the greatest Grandma/Nana a kid could have. She loved her grandchildren and was a constant in their life. She is survived by grandchildren KariSue Fetrow, Nicholas Fetrow, Will Skold, Sara Skold and great-grandson Zaden Fetrow.
Marilyn was social by nature and cherished her many friendships thru Avon, her pinochle and bowling groups, Emblem Club, and numerous friendships with neighbors. Once a friend always a friend! She will be remembered by many for her love of music, specifically her talents for playing the organ and piano. She found great harmony and personal joy creating her music.
She will be remembered for her devotion and unconditional love to her husband and family, her utter sweetness and purity. Her unyielding love, generosity and beautiful smile. You will be forever missed.
