Things I wish I could tell you.

Thanks for all the ways you touched my life
The courage you possessed every day of your life didn’t go unnoticed
You made a difference in this life. 
You were so loved by all that knew you and are missed more than words can say
The day you left this world a part of me went with you
You give me strength, you lift me up
Everytime I complain of trivial things, I dishonor you- you are my compass
If I had one more day with you- we could drive down to the Oregon Coast and walk the beach at Seaside where were we used to build sand castles when we were small and troubles were so far away. 
I miss picking you up with your diet coke in hand and smell of your cologne
If there is one thing I could tell you above all else- You were always enough just the way you were

Two years. I still think about you everyday, I miss your laugh, your sense of humor and your intense love for family and friends. I miss swinging by your house and going to the wood fire grill. The parts of our wonderful childhood that only you and I knew, and no one else would understand, stays parked inside my memories. Until we meet again, enjoy the golden shores of heaven where everyday is sunny and love abounds with people you have loved that are there with you❤️.

You will always be with me somewhere and some how! I imagine you are watching over us all, so when you see me smile big, laugh hard, and talk about “mixing it up” with others… you are a part of this conversation 💋

I went to see you today, Mom and Dad too.  My heart hurts to see you there.
I hope you like your stone.  It took a while for Cindy and I to get it just right but only the best would do for you. It’s modern and sleek with a beautiful sequoia tree on it, like the ones you admired so in your neighborhood.  It’s in your signature colors black and gray of course. 
We missed celebrating your birthday along with dad’s. Hearing your voice, your stories and your sense of humor.  Those are memories that will always be in my mind as clear as yesterday.  I will cherish them always.
I bought a house finally.  I only wish you could come see it, you always said it would be great if I could find a house I liked.  You could fix me up with all the latest electronic gadgets. You’d be happy to know I finally bought a smart TV, I think you had been telling me to get one since 2008. 
I have learned that life is so fragile, I’d do anything to have one more day with you. I’m so sorry we didn’t have that chance. So many things I wish I’d done differently. 
Please know what a difference you made in my life. Your life was hard and you handled it better than anyone could have. There were times you were so beaten down but you always renewed yourself, your positivity came back. It amazed me, I have never seen someone so resilient.  
You are a true inspiration to me. Looking at the life you lead I can no longer complain about trivial things in my life, what an insult that would be to you. You make me stronger, you make me realize what real courage is. I can only hope to have a fraction of the courage you had. I will honor you always. 
Driving home tonight, I heard Blondie “Call Me” on the radio, it instantly brought back a memory of you driving me around at night in your little green Capri with Blondie blaring.  What were we 15 and 19? those were the days.

Sitting here tonight watching an Eagles concert on the television. Remembering that day you won the Eagles tickets from a radio show. You had that lucky way about you, always winning things. You were 15 and I talked you into taking me, because you needed a driver! We went out for Mexican dinner then drove to the King Dome for the concert. It was such a great time and memory of you my dear bro, enjoying the songs, each other’s company, and laughing a lot. You were always so much fun to hang out with. How I wish I could call you tonight and we could reminisce about that concert we went to in 1976. These songs have the tears rolling down my face. I’m really trying to smile at all the beautiful memories but sometimes it is too hard still.

You would have been 60 years old today. I wanted to tease you about joining the sixties club, and hear you tell me that’s okay, because you are the OLD one, dear sis. Your absence is felt everyday and I miss you❤️

I remember many New Years celebrations with my friend Mark. Now every New Years Eve your memory is alive and well.  Gone from this earth too soon but never forgotten. 

Hi Mark. It’s been one year since you left us. 

You had a tough life, yet you had a beautiful life. You had that way about you that everyone loved. You had that unparalleled sarcastic sense of humor that I will forever miss. We could go on for hours about the silly nonsensical scenarios we could conjure up and laugh, we did lots of laughing. I think I miss that most of all, laughing with you.
I find myself chuckling about the time I sent you a chicken bone in the mail and you sent me half of a hamburger bun. And when we would talk about “Wayne”, stuff only you would understand. The memories of going down to the deep pond to catch queery things (I think they were actually weird salamanders that lived in the water), and although we never did catch one, it was so much fun. The carefree days of summer with you, Ann, John and I adventuring from sunup to sundown, always exploring. The day we brought Skeeter home, and then later my ducks, and Kim’s sweet little kitten, you are right there woven into those happy moments. You taught me about photography and computers and life. You always knew something about everything, because all your life you were curious. People just plain liked you.  You were often quick to anger, but the first to forgive. There are so many thousands of memories of you swirling about in my head that bring me joy, but my heart hurts so much missing you, and some days I can hardly bear the ache. I loved growing up with you. You were the best brother. 
Whenever Mike and I go down to the Woodfire grill we will think of you and do a toast in your name. It was our special spot to grab a bite, a drink and do some laughing. You will travel forever in my heart and always be a part of who I am. You were gone too soon, but I know you and Mom are busy working on some projects there in heaven.  Until we meet again my dear brother Mark, I will smile at the beautiful memories  you left me with.

Thinking your time away has been brief, but somehow seems like forever and a day since we both laughed aloud with each other... good night Mark. XOXO

Today would have been your 59th birthday. 
I’m sorry it’s taken me until now to write something here.  The loss of you just overwhelms me with sadness, 58 was way
 too young to be taken from us. 
I think of you every day, replaying memories of days gone by, our childhood, the family road trips, our young adulthood, up until the last time I hugged you goodbye at your house.  
If only I had known that would be the last time I’d see you...
So many things I wish I had the chance to say to you.  
How you led your life with such courage and resiliency.   Life gave you challenges the rest of us didn’t have to face but you never let it defeat you.  You always  tried your best to stay positive. You did that everyday no matter how hard it was for you. 
You were always there for your family and friends, willing to do anything for the people you cared about. 
You were smart and funny, quick-witted and of course sarcastic most of the time!  
Your love of diet coke, the color black, Seattle, the Oregon Coast, redwood trees, modern art, BMW’s, Mom’s banana cream pie and anything funny. 
These are just some of the beautiful memories I have of you.  We all miss you more than words can say. 
Thanks for being the best big brother I could have ever hoped for, you will always be an inspiration to me. 
I will forever hear your laugh in my ear like it was yesterday. 
I hold you in my heart, until we meet again…

I miss the sarcasm we shared; the ability to say the most ridiculous nonsense and somehow know it to be perfect for our talk... fast walking to the nearest bus stop (miles away) so we could experience Capital Hill Pride or Fremont Summer Solstice! People watch only to share our outrageous versions of who we  imagined them to be; how they got there and where they were headed. As close as we became Mark never allowed me to see his ID, he was “uhscared” I would learn his true age; he said I was older and I began to believe it... ah ha now I know Mr K! Special K is who he is and always will be! He provided me an Epic 50th Birthday adventure. Our late night loud music events (which I was told the next day) made the authorities (Mike) knock. Actually Mark was the only individual to get an entire police force to rush my residence Early AM hours the middle of no where- Mark concerned of my safety and the force found me sleeping! Mark’s fear of centipedes, which I believe I almost had him cured! A mustard slapping lunch lady he had been terrified of, but learned to Love Mustard on his hot dogs. Our song: Rapture by Blondie. The “stairs monster” he cared for on the pie shaped corner of Norton. His Kubota chase in a drive by Cadillac. A Red KIA across the way became an off season ride for a man we recognize as Santa. His lamp wore sunglasses for the longest time because Mark & I shared a world which still is super sunny 😎 and super funny! I see Mark sporting his 3/4 zip Black Sweater- zipped COMPLETELY UP and Stylin’ his hu-huhu  laugh that escaped his “up to something” smile! “Silly” a business we established and the forever perfect partnership we formed! The city wants us to renew our business license, what should I tell them? XoXo

I met Mark when I was 16 and he was 15. Spent a lot of good times together. He would always help me out and I would always try to help him out if I could. I am older but sometimes felt like he was the older brother to me. Sometimes people grow apart and don't see enough of each other. God Rest Your Soul

I will miss the simplicity of our friendship. We shared that from the start. I will giggle and cherish the crazy and outrageous fun we had. I’ll see you again my friend. God speed.

We are so sad to hear of Mark's passing. A good hearted friend and so devoted and always helpful. Gone too soon. Godspeed Mark. You'll be sorely missed.
