Mike was born on October 20, 1956, in Owatonna, Minnesota, to Donald and Joyce Perkins. He grew up in Kenmore, Washington, before moving to Aurora, Colorado, where he graduated from Hinkley High School in 1974.
While attending Hinkley, Mike met the love of his life, Sharyl, and
the two were married the following year, beginning a marriage that
would span five decades.
Mike and Sharyl eventually settled in Bothell, Washington, where they built their first home, raised their family, and spent the next 47
years creating a lifetime of memories. Mike enjoyed traveling,
spending time with family, and helping build the family business
alongside his father, Don. Above all else, nothing brought him more
joy than his grandchildren. He loved watching them play sports and
proudly followed their games—whether cheering from the sidelines or watching online from home.
Mike was known for his quick sense of humor, his love for Seattle
sports, and enjoyment of classic T.V. reruns like Andy Griffin, Mash
and Seinfeld. In August of last year, Mike and Sharyl moved from their longtime home to a new community in Black Diamond, where they quickly found a place they both truly adored.
Mike is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharyl Perkins; his three
children, Chris (Alicia) Perkins, Diane (Andrew) Stocking, and Kammi Perkins; and his five grandchildren, Alexis, Mackenzie, Natalie, Reese, and Claire. He is also survived by his three sisters, Julie, Gina, and Genny. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Joyce Perkins; and his grandparents Del and Ad Brase.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on March 20, 2026, at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, Washington.
Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Mike’s life.
Mike will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
