Some of Nancy’s favorite things were writing poetry, sunflower seeds, country dancing, pomegranates, afternoon naps, crocheting, Pepsi, macaroni & cheese, french fries and watching Dr. Phil. She loved spending time with family, cheating at cards or board games (she didn’t, but she won so often that she was teasingly accused of it), going to the lake, or just watching a movie. Later in her life, if there wasn’t a jigsaw puzzle on Nancy’s kitchen table it was only because she’d just finished one and hadn’t gotten the next one out.
Her son, Aaron, recalls times they leg wrestled, went swimming and the tradition of home cooked fried chicken on Sundays after church.
Her daughter, Michelle, fondly remembers watching Miss American Pageants when she was little and countless heart-to-heart conversations as she grew up (sometimes a girl just needs to hear her mom say everything is going to be ok). It was not unusual for her to leave a voicemail saying “I don’t know anything … but call me when you have a minute.”
Nancy is survived by her husband Alvis, her children Michelle and Aaron, grandchildren Dalene, Cori, Adrianna and Jessica, great grandchildren Anthony, Ramyah, Darrion, Wynter, Kuston, Bentley, Adriel and Elias.
