As Neil always said, he was conceived in Wisconsin and born in Everett, Washington to Herman and Mary Kosbab. After his younger years, full of ups and downs, highs and lows, successes and failures, in mid-life he finally found his true calling as an Adult Protective Services Social Worker. He excelled in giving advice, occasionally unwanted and unappreciated, often spot-on. Here are the highlights.
1. Start every day “upright and breathing”
2. Love your family, friends and strangers you meet on the street
3. Admit your many misdeeds and prove you’re sorry
4. Forgive often, don’t hold grudges
5. Be fearless, accept a challenge, say yes
6. Go out to lunch every chance you get and don’t forget to tip!
7. Be sincerely interested in others, ask questions, listen to the answers
8. Leave every encounter with “God be with you”
9. Pray to God and let Him worry (Martin Luther)
10. “You’ll get old if you live long enough” so do your best to make that happen
11. Always smile for a photo
So, to all who are left behind, God be with you!
