Paul A. Morrier, age 83, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2023 surrounded by his family. Paul was born in Yakima, Washington on November 9, 1939 to Earl and Barbara (Kloster) Morrier. He was the 5th of 7 children. His early years were spent working on his family’s hop ranch in Moxee, and playing school sports. He attended St Joseph’s Academy and Marquette High School in Yakima. After high school he moved to Seattle to attend Seattle University, and it was there that he met his wife, Judith Harrison. They moved to Everett Washington where they raised their 5 daughters. He was in the Moving and Relocation Business for over 30+ years, and owned his own company for many of those years.
Paul had many roles…he was a business owner, brother, uncle, and friend, but his most important role was as a fiercely devoted husband to his wife of 58 years, and devoted father to his 5 daughters. He made sure they all played team sports, went to church every week and did well in school. Family was very important to him and he loved attending family get-togethers. Paul loved sports and played basketball well into his adult years. He loved Notre Dame Football and was so excited to have attended three of their home games in Indiana. He attended many of his children’s sporting events and loved to hear about how his grandkids were doing on their teams. His grandchildren affectionately referred to him as “Papa Paul”. When asked of his grandchildren what they will remember most about him…it was his stories. Papa Paul often had a story to tell. Elvis Presley was his favorite musician. His kids always made sure he had a different Elvis tape in his Christmas stocking every year.
Paul and Judy loved to travel and visited many countries, including many cruises to ports around the world. Paul was very energetic and made many friends. We will hold the many memories of him close to our heart and he will truly be missed.
Paul is survived by his wife Judith, 5 Daughters; Pamela Simpson (Bob) PA, Debra Lowry (Rob), Melissa Morrier-Turk (Mike), Paula Morrier (Tom Astrof) and Alicia Morrier (Ben Mayer) (Hawaii), and 15 grandchildren: Morgan, Brendan, McCabe, Taylor, Connor, Gavin, Amanda, Rachael, Tyler, Derek, Ben, Grace, Abby, Kendall, and Tallulah. Three surviving brothers Joseph Morrier, Yakima; Gerald Morrier, Bothell; and Ronald Morrier, Yakima, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Barbara Morrier and his three sisters, Patricia Hanrahan, Joan O’Brien and Francis Baldwin.
The Morrier family would like to thank his Doctor and Friend, Dr. Ruth Freeman, for the wonderful care she gave him. We know that her care and dedication added years to his life.
Paul’s family will be having a private memorial to celebrate his life.
