Hey little Brother, I guess we both had ticker troubles but I got lucky and they caught it in time. I think about you every day and still am unable to go fishing yet. all I can think about is all those times we caught so many big fish together at sequi. I will go again perhaps this summer but you will be missed, life is fragile and short, so we will meet again unless saint peter sends me on that last elevator ride down.

Its been almost a year since u left us i still remember all the wonderfull memories u were not just my boss but a good friend one time we went out in your boat with nick and it broke down with no supprise lol and tony had to pull us back to shore finaly getting in at 300am none of the wives were happy but time i spent with him were priceless nick and tony u are my brothers and especialy u  rex for listening to my problems when yours were much greater u were truly a great friendy thoughts and

I know your wife and kids think of you every day with a sence of loss that cannot be discribed.you left a big hole in our family that will never be filled, nor could it be. i am so happy you were there to be with me when i shot my first goose . you may have shot 3-4 other birds , but i swear you were almost more excited than me ! i remeber how you would be in the kitchen and either sing opra , or say "everybody hates me no body loves me !" oh what good times those where (: i still remember how that one day we were going hunting with uncle nick , and wew were just leaving an we were going to pick up bailey . but first we had k.f.c (: you hated that place but you got it for me (: anyways the man who gave us the dog told me to remeber baileys birthday . december 2 . i always had to tell you ! (: now bailey is mine and i have ALL the responsibilities my dad had . I AM SO SORRY DAD ! (:  haha . 
well dad i want and need you back . i miss you . so does mom . and every single person who met you ! you are an insperation daddy .

For the past 17 years I have been fortunate to count Rex as a true friend as well as employer.  Rex truly loved people and always looked for the best in everyone he met.  When let down by someone, he was quick to forgive.  He was also quick to help anyone who was in need.  I had only worked for Rex a couple of years when I was pretty well mashed by a falling tree.  He was right there for my family and me.  I was, and always will be, extremely grateful for his support during that time.  
Although I am older than Rex, he introduced me to a lot of firsts.  I first went trolling for salmon with Rex, and he introduced me to pheasant hunting in Kimberly (A little slice of heaven down in Oregon).  His presence always brought a lot of humor and pure joy to these trips.  I regret that I never went to "The Island" with him.
I think what I will miss most is those occasional evenings when we were the last ones at the office and would just "shoot the ****" for an hour or so.  We would usually wind up laughing for most of it.
I am blessed and privilaged to have known Rex, and miss him daily.

Rex from the time you were born to the day you left this mortal world you have always had a special place in my heart not just as a brother but my dearest freind there are so many things that you have done and said over the years that will be with me everyday till we are together again . What an amazing friend and person. Rex's shoulders were big, but his heart was huge.
   Some of the funniest and most memerable moments in my life are a direct result of Rex. I will miss the daily harrassing phone call the most. I hope they have crabbing up there buddy. You will be increibly missed.

Dad, you dearly missed by us all!! Through coming home in the summer to water fights and fishing to valentines day when you just knew how to keep everyone  smiln and christmas day just having that one fun day. Im going to miss all the holidays and the special moments. I really regret not going on that last hunting trip with you i wish i really would of.But the words you did say to me inspired me and taught me right from wrong and what to do when things get hard me and you never really had many searious talks or did much but you were the only ne who came with me to see twilight and when i was upset and didnt know what to do when i was upset about a fight me and sam got into  not mom not shelby not sydney but YOU came to talk to me i was shoked it as you cause you have never done that before and what you said meant so much to me you were calm and just ready to listen and gave advice and now all i got was one chance to talk and im glad i did. But i wish we could still have more!! You kept a level head and a good mood about alot and just made everyone laugh and smile even if we were in a bad mood you would find a way to make a joke out of it and keep everyone in a good mood in the house.Hunting will never be the same or coming home to you with a squirt gun in ur hand and just knowing the war is on! I only knew Rex a very short time, but in that time he really touched my life with friendship and laughter. He will very much be missed.

You were like a second father to me no joke. you always wanted a son, I remember hearing that. And you know what you have 3. Me, jeff bernard and sam, savys bf. instead of one son. you ended up with 3. so you have 3 beautiful girls and 3 sons that wont go anywhere. :) I remember when you and me kept on trying to do flip words and beat your wife. but never did witch was sad. but you know what i will keep trying to for both of us. not promising much but i will try my best. its hard. let me tell you cause all of us know i am not that smartes person on the plantet. you saved me on that game so much. thank you. and we never made it to cabelas but me and your family will make it down there for you and spend money like you and me planned. for being a second dad i really miss you and hope you are rocking the house up and raising the roof. you always had laughs and funb here and i know you brought the party up there. don't worry your family is doing great and misses you alot and knows you are there for them and all of us no matter what. thank you so much for being my partner in cards and dealing with my new skills trying to learn. and you know what, it paid off cuz we won the game. from negative to all the way of winning. that was awsome. :)rex rest in peaace and keep the party going. love ya. love chris brandley

I know there was sooo much more he was to everyone that ever had a chance to meet him. 
Just the other day i was looking through old baby stuff and i found a piece of newspaper that talked about the day i was born. It was talking about how proud he was to be a father. I believe every bit of it. I can't even begin to think how i'm going to go on without him. EVERYDAY i see or hear something that just reminds me of him. He just really needs to come home because we all need him here for help, support, and be my father. There is still so much he needs to teach me. Like hunting, fishing, crabbing techniques. All of these things a boy could of done and i wouldn't of learned anything without him.
I feel great that when i got to shoot my first phesant i was with him. He may not have showed it but i know he was very proud of me. 
I never thought i would be having to do this at age 18. i would think about years and years ahead what life is going to be and my dad was in everyone of my visions. 
Like the day i get married it would be a summer day bright beautiful and like almost every bride start to get nervous my dad was suppose to be there to calm my nerves because that was something he was very good at. And then the big moment comes and he has to walk me down the aisle just me and him. But now everything has changed and my dreams were washed away in a matter of hours.I loved him so much. Even though i had moved out thats when my father and i really started talking about everything. It was just a new maturity level with me and my dad that i didn't have before.
I feel very greatful that my father got to come to my high school graduation and was able to watch me graduate on one of the most accomplishing days of my life that he got to share with me.
This isn't fair. In any way shape or form. 2 things i will miss more then anything else was the pinocle games my mom, dad and i would play. They were ALWAYS full of smiles, laughter, and jokes!!!! Always so much fun. I wish i could just play one last game..
And the last thing was a very funny memory. I am just getting home from school and the last thing i am expecting is my dad standing there with a squirt gun ready to get me. And the only way to get inside is to walk past him and get wet!! And i did everytime! and he always had the best laughs after getting us with that stupid squirt gun!!!
Oh man..
I love you dad. With every breath i take. I will see you again and we can go hunting just me and you. goodnight daddy.

I just heard this very unfortunate news today and was completely saddened by the loss ~ for all of us who ever had the good graces to have known him and for the family that loved him dearly. I read through the previous 49 entries and could easily see that we all knew the same Rex Chase! He was truly a man who loved life, laughter, family, his wife & daughters, friends, his work, hunting, his dogs, and some swilling!! He was one great & funny guy who was so easy to like. Condolences and the biggest of hugs to Laura, the girls, all of the family, close friends & his employees. It was my pleasure to have known Rex in my life. ~ "I am with you because you remember me." ~

This has come as sad, surprising news.  My thoughts and prayers are with the Chase family.  While it has been many years since I have seen Rex, I still often think of the fun things we used to do as a group... me, Tony, Nick, Rex going skeet shooting, or on short road trips, all the family dinners and such -- Rex always with his bright smile, great sense of humor and positive, enthusiastic outlook.  

In rest, may you find the peace that we all seek.

We are so very sorry to hear of the loss of Rex. He is in our thoughts and prayers.  Our sympathies to his loved ones. So very sad.

Rex was a great guy- I knew him professionally in the asbestos abatement and training world over the past 20 years (from long hair days!). I remember him as a humble guy of solid character who liked and cared about people and who was always looking to do the right thing. He will be sorely missed. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

He was a wonderful Uncle with a warm caring heart and mischievious smile. He always saw the best in people and knew how to have a good time.

He loved video games and he bought me and my sister a Nintendo when they first came out for Christmas and we had so much fun with it. When I was a teenager he used to always take me to see the new Superman movies when they came out in the summer and we would eat gummy bears until we felt sick.

I remember having annual summer picnics at which Supersoaker Wars were always inevitable and he was always concerned with having the best weaponry and ambush sneak attacks. One year he actually modified a fire extinguisher to spray water...that thing must have sprayed at least 50 feet!

I still get chills thinking of his creepy alien costume, I laugh picturing his uncle urkel charachter, I consider running for cover remembering the red sparkler bombs New Years 2000 and most of all I will miss hearing him say the word "Reeeeeally".

We miss you Uncle Rex and will love you for always until we see you again in Heaven...

I knew Rex as a buisiness coleague and as a student in many recertification classes over probably 20-some years. He was always open and honest with his customers and businbess associates and was a very lively participant in class discussions. We will miss you Rex, my life was enhanced by having you in it.

Rex Chase a true friend though I knew him just a short time after becoming his brothers (tony's) business partner.  I'll always remember the time that he , Tony and their brother Nick went fishing in Canada for a week. Rex and I had a bet going on who could catch the biggest salmon one day and Rex beat me by just over a pound. Rex was always very out going and we loved to talk about fishing and hunting. The night that I got the call from Tony of his passing was a shock. Rex was the youngest of the family and it made me think of my brothers and how I would react when the same occurred in my life. Rex was so young and I believe that we always forget how fragile and unpredictable life really is. Rex will be missed and I send my condoleces to all of the Chase family. Rex liked harmless pranks. One time he surprised me by waiting outside a store until I came out, then he doused me with a Supersoaker squirt gun & drove away. He kept us smiling & I'll sure miss him.

My dear brother Rex, I will love and miss you for all of my days. You lit up everywhere you went with your smile and enthusiasm for life.
Those that never knew you missed someone that so rarely graces others lives, your humor & thoughtfulness are treasures I will never forget. I will carry the wonderful memories of you all

I remember when Rex was still just the kid brother that I would see when I went to go see Nick at there house. I always liked to talk to Rex because he had a great outlook and made me laugh. I also worked for him for a while and enjoyed every minute I got to spend with him due to the same great outlook on life and he still made me laugh. I wish I could find the words to help in our loss... but i cannot. I had not seen Rex for about a year but I will miss him the rest of my life.
