After a 6-year battle with Multiple Myeloma Cancer, Richard passed peacefully at his home in Monroe, WA June 7, 2015.
Born in 1944, Richard grew up in the Seattle area. He was preceded in death by his parents, George R Baldridge and Bonny J Devereaux. He is survived by his younger siblings, Betty Devereaux, Barb Bilow, Robert Baldridge and Beth Henson.
Richard graduated from Ingraham High School in 1962. He worked for the Seattle Water Department and then started his own business “RRB Excavators” doing underground utility and excavation work. His father worked with him for a number of years and then his brother Robert. Richard and Robert worked side by side over the years before partnering to start an asphalt paving, sealcoat and striping business in addition to the continued excavation work which helped result in a number of golf course construction projects Richard took special pride in. Alongside his company’s work, Richard developed over 30 parcels within Snohomish County over the years to create viable building sites for new home owners.
To say Richard was an avid golfer and hunter is an understatement. The only thing he loved more than being on the course or in the mountains was being there with his family. He also enjoyed camping, boating, horseback trips and fishing with many friends and family members over the years. Not to mention a good hand of Cribbage and or some Seahawks football.
Richard married Lola Johnson in 1964 and had two daughters Pamela Treischel and Susan Larsen. In 2004 Richard married Linda Wolff and together raised daughter Bianca Wolff-Baldridge. Richard also leaves behind 5 granddaughters, Chelsea, Lydia, Hanna, Keerstin, Lita, and a number of extended family members.
Special thanks to his “helper” Judith Green and Hospice for their dedication, care, and guidance as they helped his daughters fulfil his final wishes.
Please join us in celebrating Richard’s life at 10:00 AM on Friday June 12th at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills. www.FloralHillsLynnwood.com
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation in Richard’s name.
