Born September 1, 1928, in Madison, Wisconsin to Theodore and Helen Gettle.
Richard served in the US Navy during the Korean War.
Richard was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and donated monies to many other organizations that meant a lot to him.
He married Joyce Palmer in 1953.
He was a member of the Eureka Lodge #20 and Mt. Moriah Lodge #11.
He worked on golf courses his entire life. Even building a few himself.
He loved baseball, football, and golf. He loved golfing with his friends. He was an avid Seahawks fan.
He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Rasmussen; his three children, Debbie Fixel, Lynn Gettle, and Ron Gettle; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and his lifelong companion, Peanuts.
Memorial services will be held at Floral Hills Cemetery at 409 Filbert Rd in Lynnwood on January 7, 2016 at 1pm.
