

Richard (Junior), the eldest son and of Norwegian heritage was born October 6, 1954 to Richard Sr and Jorunn Mayer of Seattle, Washington, and was a long-time resident of Mountlake Terrace, Washington. Rick worked as a machinist for more than 45 years, working with West Coast Industries alongside his brother Dennis for 24+ years, and most recently working his craft with the Hinds Boch Corporation. Ricky was much more than a master machinist, he was a true master and artesian of many crafts, including home building and restorations, auto mechanics and restorations, electrician, landscaping and real estate transactions. One of Ricky’s most prized accomplishments was restoring his 1958 corvette, which he won several awards and trophy’s for, she’s a real beaut!!
Above all else, Ricky loved to teach and mentor, his passion for sharing his lifelong wisdom and craftsmanship with others was what brought him tremendous joy and satisfaction. Ricky was a true “jack of all trades”, and everyone who knew him could always count on his wisdom and his willingness to teach and share his knowledge. Ricky was a true believer in putting his family and friendships first above all else. Ricky adored his family and his lifelong friendships. Ricky was a wonderful son to his loving parents, a very special and loving brother to his all of siblings, a remarkable and loving husband to his adoring wife, and a very special and loving father and papa to his children and his many grandchildren.
Coffee cup in hand, Ricky was always helping others and working on one project or another, these were the activities that brought him the most joy and happiness all his life. Ricky always had a special saying; “Don’t be bummin when Ricky be hummin”, and Ricky was “ hummin” every day of his life!
Ricky is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Mrs. Sheri Ann Mayer, his Mother and Father, Mr. Richard Conrad Sr, and Mrs. Jorunn Sandnes Mayer. His brothers; Harry, Dennis & Steven Mayer, his sisters; Evelyn Zybura & Lillian Holstein-Hastie. Sons; Richard and Ryan Mayer and his daughters, Sara Brown and Stephanie Estrada. Grandchildren; Alyssa Brown, Nathan Brown, Maverick Mayer, Arianna Mayer, and Daylon, Carter & Wesley Estrada.
Ricky is also survived by his many nieces, nephews & cousins, along with his countless lifelong friends and extended family members.
A celebration of Ricky’s beautiful life will be held in the future with details to be forthcoming. We sincerely thank all of our family and friends for the outpouring of prayers and loving heartfelt condolences that have showered down upon our family during this sorrowful time.
May Ricky always rest in peace and in great comfort within our Lord’s loving arms.
