August 30, 1932 – October 14, 2012
Robert L Allman went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2012. Some of his friends knew him as Bob, and some as Buzz. He is survived by his daughter, Melinda (Chris) Wonch of Grand Coulee, WA and his son, Cory (Bobbie) Allman of Mansfields, WA. He had two grandchildren, Donovan and Rylin Wonch. He had several nieces and nephews.
Robert was born and raised in Seattle, WA. At age 17, in 1949, he enlisted in the US Army and they sent him overseas to Okinawa for about three and a half years during the Korean Conflict. After serving his four years, he was discharged in 1953. He decided to reenlist in January of 1955 but the Army released him in April of 1955. He then looked for work anywhere he could get hired and did a variety of kinds of jobs. In time he got into truck driving and that became his long term career.
His strongest interests were in sports. He enjoyed watching baseball, football, car racing, bull riding and golf. He enjoyed participating in fishing and bowling. He succeeded in bowling a 300 game in January of 1999.
He accepted the Lord as his Savior when he was nine years old. The later, as an adult, he rededicated his life to the Lord. He was a member of a Baptist church for the last 16 years which is now known as Providence Family Baptist Church.
