With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Robert “Bruce” Campbell at his home in Wickenburg, Arizona, on October 20, 2026, after a stoic battle with cancer. He came into this world on May 5, 1939, in Preston, Idaho, the sixth of ten children born to Sidney and Maude Campbell. As a child he loved a good joke, a trait he carried with him throughout his life, including witty banter with his hospices nurses into his final days.
After graduating from Moses Lake High School in 1957, he served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the central and southern United States, where he loved the people and the food.
Shortly after returning from his mission, Bruce married Judie Lundgren, and they were blessed with four children. He later married Pearl Schaffer Carlson and together they welcomed a son. In 1979, Bruce married Valita Cunnington, whose four children were also an important part of his life. Bruce and Valita later had a daughter, adding another bond to their family connections.
Much of Bruce’s professional career was spent in manufacturing with The Boeing Company. Throughout his life, he devoted many years to church service. In their later years, Bruce and Valita served missions together, including the Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission and the Washington Everett Mission. In his free time, Bruce enjoyed woodworking and had a special appreciation for classic cars.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Valita, children Patti Adams, Heidi Campbell (Eben), Jill Hile (Rich), Paul, Sarah Youngberg (Spencer); stepchildren Denise Larsen, Mark Smith, Lisa Marshall (Bob), and Christina Price (Gary); five siblings, Janice Sanders, Kathleen Barrett, Craig Campbell, Elaine Smith, and Scott Campbell; and numerous grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Cailen Campbell; grandson, Ethan Adams; and four siblings; Reid Campbell, Ned Campbell, Betty McKee, and Dick Campbell.
A viewing and graveside service will be held at Floral Hills Cemetery at 409 Filbert Road in Lynnwood, Washington, at 9 a.m. on November 2nd followed by a celebration of life at 12 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 16124 35th Avenue SE, Mill Creek, Washington.
The family would like to express their deepest thanks for the wonderful care provided by Hospice of the Valley and the outpouring of support from friends and community members during this time.
