Robert Avery Prickett was born in Swan, Iowa, on January 8, 1923, and passed away just prior to his 91st birthday on January 4, 2014. He was a quiet man who lived a great life whose actions spoke louder than words. His parents died when he was a child, but he worked his way from a farm laborer to a career as an architectural design draftsman and was involved in the construction of numerous buildings in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. In addition, he was a craftsman who could design and build anything from wood.
He joined the US Navy in World War II and was in action in both the European and Pacific theaters. After the war, he settled in Seattle and was married for 64 years to his wife, Margaret, who passed away in 2010. He is survived by his children, Carol and Gary, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
His memorial will be held at Maplewood Presbyterian Church in Edmonds on January 18th at 2:00 PM with a graveside service at Floral Hills in Lynnwood on January 31st at 11:00 AM.
Arrangements under the direction of Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, Lynnwood, WA.
