

After a brave battle with Alzheimer’s, Roy Klem passed away on July 8, 2015. Born February 13, 1930, in Opheim, Montana to George and Mildred Klem, he was raised in Whitefish, Montana along with three brothers and one sister. He married Ina Dye (Kalispell, MT) in June 1952, and they moved from Flathead Valley to the Seattle area.
Roy and Ina settled in Mountlake Terrace where they raised three children (Cindy, Steve and Susan). They helped start and were long faithful members of Edmonds Christian Church. Roy started working as a kid helping his father with their family fuel business (coal, wood, presto logs). He was on a crew that built Hungry Horse Dam. In Seattle he worked many years with both Pacific and Olympic Lincoln Mercury.
He was a member of the Elks and was very involved in youth baseball serving on the Mountlake Terrace Youth Athletic Association Board for many years and was a long-time keeper of the field behind Mountlake Terrace High School. Roy also was a long time groundskeeper and handyman at his church.
Roy is survived by his children Cindy Christopherson (Wayne), Steve Klem (Dee) Susan Kasalko (Tom); grandchildren Shawna Tatum (Rob), Stacey Christopherson; Charles and Crystal Kasalko; Maddy and Kyle Klem; Erika Christopherson and great grandchildren Max, Mason and Titus Tatum; Kayne, Payten, Mackenzie and Makenna Christopherson.
Viewing hours will be on Wednesday, July 15, with a graveside service at 2:30 followed by a memorial service (about 3 pm) at Purdy and Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Rd, Lynnwood, WA 98036.
