Ruth Haarberg, aged 83, of Edmonds, Washington, was born to Olga (Grøtteland) and Ole Skreaa on August 15, 1930 in Bjerkreim, Norway. She passed away on March 16, 2014 in Kirkland, Washington. She married John Haarberg on June 7, 1952, in Bjerkreim, Norway. In January of 1953, when she was 22, Ruth and John immigrated to the United States via the Queen Mary to eventually settle in Edmonds, Washington. Ruth was a homemaker, raising their four children, was a member of Maple Park Lutheran Brethren Church. She enjoyed singing in the Norwegian String Band, visiting her relatives in Norway, knitting, baking, reading, and volunteering at her church. She is preceded in death by her husband John Haarberg, her son, Ralph Haarberg, her parents Olga and Ole Skreaa, and grandparents Torger and Rakel Grøtteland, and Ola and Anna Skreea. She is survived by her daughters Bodil Johnson (Dennis) and Christine Johnson (Roger), and son Arne Haarberg (Debra); her siblings Anny Strand, Thyra Egeland, Sonja Slettebo, and Ase Kari Braadli; several nieces and nephews, and eight grandchildren.
