Ruth Gladys Visser

Ruth Gladys Visser (nee Hoffer), age 96, of Lynnwood, WA passed away peacefully on September 18, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Ruth was born to Robert and Lydia Hoffer on August 28th, 1927. She was raised in North Dakota and moved to Seattle in her adult years. While in Washington, she was raising her son, Richard, when she met and wed Harry Glopen in 1951. They had two children, Elison and Brent.

Ruth then met and wed her love, Jack, on October 8, 1965. Together they had a daughter, Jacqueline. Sadly, Jack passed in 2008 in Yuma, AZ.

Ruth worked multiple jobs during her life, including stints at a poultry factory, selling door to door, Boeing, a waitress and before retiring, working in the Edmonds School District.

When not working, Ruth loved to spend time with her family and friend camping, fishing, attending the Eagles and the Elk clubs. After retiring, she loved traveling in their RV around the country. She was an avid Seattle Mariners fan and loved watching and rooting for her team hoping every year for a championship.

Our mom, Ruth, will be dearly missed. Ruth was preceded in death by both of her parents; her beloved husband, Jack; and her three brothers. She is survived by her four children, Richard (Sue), Elison (Ray), Brent (Stacey), and Jacqueline; multiple grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
