

Sadie was born in Hatton, North Dakota, on August 10, 1923. She moved to Ballard, Washington, and worked for Prudential Insurance where she gained some life-long friends. During this time she met her husband, Ben Darrell Johnson, and they were married on February 4, 1945. They bought property in what is now Brier, Washington, where they built their home in 1955 and lived the rest of their days. In their retirement they were snow birds for many years, traveling to Silver Ridge in Mesa, Arizona, where they bought a park model to spend the winters.
Sadie loved family, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, where she had taught Sunday school, friends, along with gardening, square dancing, round dancing, building photo albums and journaling life events.
She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph, mother, Thilda, husband, Bennie Darrell Johnson, brothers Jasper, Thilford, and sisters Gladys, Adeline and Ethel.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Johnson (wife Robin) and Ben Johnson (wife Liz). Also her grandsons, Curtis and Nolan Johnson, and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, May 22, at 2 pm at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (3215 Larch Way, Lynnwood). In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
