Shelly Ann (Mamuzich) Egging was born October 25, 1962 in Great Falls Montana to Jerry and Maureen (Chritiaens) Mamuzich.
Shelly died of a very rare form of bile duct and liver cancer on September 11, 2024. She never liked referring to this time as a battle that would be won or lost but a part of her life journey. She felt so blessed by the many wonderful family and friends that held us in their prayers.
She grew up in Conrad Montana. After graduating from Conrad High School in 1980 she attended Carroll College in Helena Montana where she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1984. While at Carroll she met her soulmate and best friend, Duane. They were married in 1984 in Missoula Montana and had 40 wonderful years of marriage. They moved to Bozeman Montana where Duane finished up his engineering degree in 1986 and Shelly worked night shifts at the old hospital.
From Bozeman they moved to Sidney in western Nebraska for 4 years. Shelly worked with another nurse covering all of Cheyenne county for home care visits. They realized they were caring for more patients at the end of life so they attended hospice volunteer training along with a pain and symptoms management seminar to help provide better care. This is how Shelly’s career with hospice began.
They moved to Everett Washington in 1990 and Shelly worked as a hospice nurse for over 25 years. She still connected with some of the many wonderful people she worked with.
Shelly’s most precious passion was her family. She always said her heart was full when they were all together.
Shelly is preceded in death by her mother Maureen. She is survived by her father Jerry and his wife Mary, husband Duane, daughter Vanessa, son Collin, son Aaron and daughter-in-law Faith and grandson Ozzy. She is also survived by brothers Kelvin and wife Leo, Mike and wife Cheri, Mark and wife Julie, sister Shawna and partner Todd, several nieces and nephews and many extended family members.
