It has taken me a long time to know what to say. I am heartbroken at this loss, I will always cherish our times together and will always have a special place in my heart for Tristyn. He had so much potential and I'm sad he will never be able to do all the things he talked about. I will always love and miss you.

It is absolutely true that you don't know what you have until you have lost it. With great sorrow you have left such a vast emptiness in the lives of those around you. I remember you as a young man full of energy and spirit, always willing to sit and debate or simply discuss History and Economics. You had qualities about you that were far beyond your years. You were a well rounded individual with unlimited potential and I am better having known you. I Pray and wish for peace and healing for those left behind, those you loved and those that loved you back. May the thoughts of you be of Joy and Love. Fair Winds and Following Seas.

I have just received the tragic news of Tristyn's death and I am very saddened. 

Two years ago, I had the good fortune to come across him as I was taking part in a student exchange program at Western. We only spent 3 months together but it was long enough to find out how amazing Tristyn was. 

He was brilliant, funny, passionate, adventurous and, above all, very caring. He was strongly supportive and he made my first stay in the US unforgettable. I will always be grateful to him and he will always have a special place in my heart. The photo was taken at a Halloween party, to which he had kindly invited me  he had lent his uniform to me and I really enjoyed this evening we shared.

Now here is a message from a French Army officer to a US Navy sailor. We didn't serve the same nation but we shared the same values. Tristyn had told me he had joined the Navy because he wanted to help protect those who were too scared or too weak to protect themselves. He enlisted for the common good, which fitted well with who he was: a man who cared for others. For all this, he has all my respect and admiration.

My thoughts go to his family and especially to his mother and his brother. Tristyn had told me a lot about the strong bond between the three of you. One day, you welcomed me at your home and I was able to see it, full of love, laughs and complicity. May the love of family and friends comfort you during these difficult days.

Rest in peace Tristyn.I will always remember you.

Tristyn, there isn't a day where I don't think of you. Though we didn't know each other long, I will always remember you. 

You had an amazing soul and a beautiful smile and you were so inspiringly passionate about your family and the things you cared about most.

I was lucky enough to get a glimpse of the adventurous, kind, and funny person that you were. I am so thankful for the time that we shared together and only wish there could have been more.

Tristyn, not a day goes by that I don't think about you and all of the funny moments we all experienced. Drill Weekends won't be the same without you there. You'll always have a place in my heart. It's so hard at times seeing the world, knowing that you were supposed to be here with us! As I shed tears, don't worry, I will be alright. Miss you!!!

Tristyn was a very special and caring person. I remember in elementary school when he would go out of his way to do something for someone else, even if he got in trouble for it. Tristyn always thought of others before himself. In high school he would leave his class early just to walk to me to my next class or out to my truck. We had so much fun together, from going to prom to adventuring around DisneyWorld. He has a very special place in my heart and I will always love him.

We are so very sorry for your loss.  Tristyn was a wonderful person.  We were honored to know him and feel he was a blessing to our daughter.

I could never have anything bad to say about Tristyn. He was such a wonderful and respectful human being. In the years that I've known him he has always made time for his family and friends before himself. I will always have good memories of him and the amazing person that he has always been.

I didn't know Tristyn long but he has a permanent place in my heart. He was a fantastic man and a great shipmate. I miss him daily and will never forget the great memories I have. I am truly sorry for your loss.

We are so very sorry to hear about Tristyn.  I always loved his gift of conversation and will always be grateful of how he cared for Lindsey, I was never worried when she was with him.  He always had time to play Stratego or Monopoly with Brett, such great memories around my kitchen table. Tristyn, you will always have a special place in my heart, love you kid.
