Born March 11, 1917 in Washington’s Skagit Valley, Virginia married her husband Warren Paulson, a Navy veteran, in June 1948 and together they raised their beloved daughter Nancy, first in Portland and then in Kirkland. Virginia and Warren enjoyed 54 years of marriage before Warren's death in August 2002.
Virginia had a way with numbers, which led to a bookkeeping career with jobs in retail, health care, the construction industry and later with Kirkland’s First Baptist Church. The accuracy of her ledger entries was matched by the preciseness of her memory.
Virginia sought neither fame nor fortune. Instead, faith and family were the cornerstones of her life. Prominent in her apartment were her Bible and many photographs of her daughter and son-in-law (Nancy and Christopher Fox), granddaughter Kirstin Fox Marolf and husband Nathan; grandson Matthew Fox and wife Alicia; and two great-grandsons Jackson Philip Fox and Levi Benjamin Marolf.
Celebration of Virginia's life will be held on Saturday, February 18th at 3pm at Merrill Gardens, 201 Kirkland Avenue, Kirkland, Washington 98033."
