In Loving Memory
Wallace Lee Hageman Sr. was born in Seattle to John Henry and Marie Hageman on April 27, 1932.
Raised in Ballard, Wally graduated from Ballard High in 1950. He studied business classes at Everett Jr. College while working part time at Associated Grocers as a warehouse order picker. After one year of college he became a full time employee at Associated Grocers retiring after 43years of dedication. Wally was a respected Union Representative for the Teamsters Local 117.
It was at Ballard High when Wally first laid eyes on the love of his life Elsie Mae. They married in 1952 and raised their 5 children Wally Jr., Kathy, Terry, Dean and Wendy in Shoreline.
They shared a lifetime together side by side, celebrating an amazing 73 years of marriage.
Wally enjoyed gardening, woodworking and sporting events.
As a devoted gardener each year he kept a thriving vegetable garden and a well maintained yard.
He also possessed a genuine talent for woodworking and his craftsmanship was most evident in the interior finishing work he completed on their house built on Camano Island.
Wally and Elsie especially took pride in their children and grandchildren. They regularly attended their sports games, activities and graduations with much love and enthusiasm.
Wally was a true friend to all, making connections easily and offering help without hesitation. His compassionate spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
