Wayne Allen Hansen, 83, of Everett, was born May 6, 1943, to Horace and Evelyn Hansen in Kenmare, North Dakota. He went to be with his Lord and Savior June 5, 2026, in Billings, Montana, surrounded by his loving wife, Midge, his precious children, and grandchildren.
When Wayne was around a year old, his family moved to Washington state. Wayne attended Snohomish schools, graduating from Snohomish High School in June 1961, where he was a student teacher in his woodshop class.
On November 3, 1961, Wayne married the love of his life, Margaret [Midge] Anderson of Everett. Together they had three beautiful daughters, Shelley, Susan, and Caryn.
In 1965, after working in Everett Mills, Wayne attended Carpenters Apprenticeship School, becoming a journeyman carpenter. He became very skilled in his craft, eventually obtaining the position of superintendent on numerous job sites, including schools, banks, clinics, shopping centers, two high-rises in Seattle, and many church facilities.
Wayne accepted the Lord as his Savior in 1970, which changed his life forever. Wayne and Midge began attending Marysville Lutheran Brethren Church along with their children. In 1977 Wayne was hired to be foreman and oversee the construction of Hope Lutheran Brethren Church facility located in South Everett near Silver Lake. It was there Wayne and Midge raised their three girls.
In 1980 Wayne & Midge purchased the property behind their house, built a rental house, and they became landlords.
In 1986 Wayne and Midge bought a Bayliner Boat and enjoyed vacationing in the San Juan Islands with church friends for many years.
On January 1, 1989, Wayne and Midge decided to visit Bethany Christian Assembly Church. So, Wayne, Midge, their three daughters, and their families all attended together. That day was the beginning of a 37-year journey for Wayne and Midge where they soon became members of the congregation. When the church folks heard Wayne was a skilled carpenter, they put him to work finishing classrooms upstairs. He called on his dad and electrician friend to help him. They got the job done!
Wayne retired from the Carpenter’s Union in 1998 after 33 years.
In 2004, Wayne was hired by BCA to oversee construction of a new children’s wing, to change the location of the office complex, and to add a cafeteria, and coffee bar. His good friend and fellow craftsman, Jim Brown, built all the cabinetry.
Wayne established his own LLC business, WAH Maintenance Company, in 2005.
In 2013, Wayne completed the construction of the new chapel wing. That concluded his building projects at BCA. He was also diagnosed with cancer in the same year, and by the grace of God, was healed.
Wayne’s hobbies included fishing, hunting, shooting, and building rifles. He also loaded his own ammunition. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed mowing the lawns at all his properties.
Wayne had a deep love for God and served Him well. He adored his wife, Midge, of 64 years. Together they formed a very close bond of love, especially in the later years. He cherished his children and great-grandchildren.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Horace, and Evelyn Hansen; sister, Sharon Lus; parents-in-law, Leroy, and Margaret Anderson; and brother-in-law, Ronald Turner [Amy].
