Wyona Smedley of Mountlake Terrace passed away on March 13, 2024 at the age of 91. She was married to Melvin Smedley for over 40 years, and the pair shared many joyous adventures and memories together. The Smedleys were beloved members of their community and maintained several close friendships over the years. Some of these tight-knit bonds included those shared with her nephews, Luci Massick and her family, the Brockman family, the Topolinski family, the Sievertsons, and the Miller family.
Wyona worked at Fircrest School for 14 years as a Shift Charge for her unit, where she built great relationships with her clients and fellow staff.
Wyona was also a talented painter who enjoyed taking classes and creating new art in her free time. She once spent ample time creating a replica of a Thomas Kinkade painting that looked just like the original.
In her earlier years she loved cooking, and was best known for making soups and cobbler. Wyona was also quite fond of flowers, some of her favorites were roses, peonies, and daisies. If you knew Wyona well, you’d remember her wide array of flowers throughout the yard of her little pink house. Special thank you to everyone that loved and cherished Wyona over the years.
A memorial service will be held on May 22nd at 12:00 at Floral Hills in Lynnwood.
