

Ameryal Watson Payne, 77, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Pine Point Hospice. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Watkins and Pastor Charles Hanson officiating. The family will greet friends on Monday, March 2, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mr. Payne was born in Dodge Co. to the late Otis R. and Sarah Hooks Payne. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Azelee Phagan, Margaret Ellen Payne, Annie Ray Phagan Woodrum, Edward Payne and John Franklin Payne, Sr. He enjoyed playing baseball for the Dodge County Weavers. Mr. Payne was retired from Blue Bird Body Company after thirty years of service. He was a member of the Christian Hope Church in Warner Robins. Ameryal was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his wife of fourteen years, Mary Lou Payne of Byron, daughter, Ruth Winters of Atlanta, grandchildren, Netanya and Netasha of Atlanta, siblings, Dewitt (Ellen) Phagan of Cedar Grove, George (Sue) Payne of Macon, Pat Payne (David) Stephens of Eastman, sister-in-law,Elizabeth Payne of Warner Robins, broth-in-law, Tommy (Marie) Sanders of Macon and several nieces and nephews.
