In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to help with the outstanding medical expenses incurred from her cancer treatment. Born in Macon, Georgia, Angela was the beloved daughter of the late Perry and Carmella Chairmont Tyson. She was preceded in death by her son, Jason Steven Baker, and her sister, Elaine Tyson.
Angela devoted many years of her life to serving others. She retired from the Department of Family and Children Services as a Child Protective Service Case Manager, a role in which she made a lasting difference in the lives of children and families. She was a fierce advocate especially for Youth Challenge as well as Mothers Against Drunk Drivers. She also gave her heart to the youth, always believing in their potential even when others couldn't see it.
To know Angela was to love her. She had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and valued. Her generous spirit, her playful sense of humor, and her deep compassion touched everyone she met. She loved animals, cherished her family, adored her friends, and wore the title "Fun Boss" with pride and joy-especially when it came to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were her world.
Angela is survived by the love of her life, her devoted husband of forty-two years, Mike Davenport; her children, Carmella Christine Baker (Chad Dover) and Nicholas Luke Davenport (LuLu); her grandchildren, Carmella Elaine (Tyler) Hill, Jase Dalton Douglas (Olivia), and Robert Tyson Griggers (Maddie); her great grandchildren, Angelina Christine Hill (Lina) and Hayden James Hill; and her siblings, Dianne (Ricky) Nobles, Mike Tyson, Perry (Margie) Tyson, and Shane (Tisha) Tyson. She also leaves behind a large and loving circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends-many of whom became like family.
Angela's legacy is one of love, laughter, loyalty, and kindness. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
