

Anita P. (Gamble) Myers-Grieshop, a devote Christian saved at an early age, passed into the hands of the Lord on Monday, March 2, 2026. She was the daughter of Hugh Henry “Huebert” Gamble and Katherine (McClendon) Gamble. Anita spent many hours studying her family genealogy and was proudly the descendent granddaughter of Alice Swafford (aka Sworford), Polk B. McClendon and Lillie Clendenon, George M. Gamble. She Born April 17, 1939 in Decatur Alabama, she grew up in Columbus, GA. In 1959 she married, James “Jimmy” Myers, her Jordan High School sweetheart. In high school years she was cheerleader, class treasure, vice president of art class, Teams Against Polio Georgia state representative. Anita, a member of Morningside Baptist Church gave to her church generously during her life, helping with events, teaching Sunday School, Youth leadership, and Children’s Church. She was involved in her children’s education serving as PTA president for Mattie Wells Elementary. Jimmy passed in 1984. After he passed Anita managed the Emery Highway Spur, the family-owned convenience store.
Anita was blessed to meet her best friend, husband Patrick J. Grieshop in 1992. Patrick stopped to help her in the parking lot with a flat tire, invited her to coffee and donuts across the street and a love began. Patrick, her anchor for many years was by her side giving love and attention unselfishly until her last hours.
Family was important to Anita; she took pride in all the pictures and times shared with everyone. She was blessed with a combined family of 6 children; Tina Myers Dorner (Glenn), Justina Grieshop Hancock (Richard), Kathy Myers Goodwin (Lee), Lori Grieshop Smith (Chris), J. Kevin Myers (Lilly), Patrick K. Grieshop (Shannon), 22 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.
Anita was preceded in death by Jimmy Myers, her parents; Huebert and Katherine, her sisters Katherine Allmond, and Jeanette Jones
To know Anita is to love her, she always knew in prayer to know God was to know what love was.
Burial was in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery in Macon, Georgia
