

Ann Grace Stokes, 60, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 9, 2016. A Celebration of her life will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at New Elim Baptist Church, 4368 Hartley Bridge Road, Macon GA 31216. The family will greet friends on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3969 Mercer University Dr., Macon GA 31204. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to Forest Hills United Methodist Church Backpack Ministry, 1217 Forest Hills Road, Macon GA 31210.
Ann was born in Macon, Georgia and attended Macon Christian Academy. She was retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base human resource department. Ann was a charter member of Berean Baptist Church where she worked in Children’s Church and the youth program. After retirement, she volunteered at Forest Hills United Methodist Church and Redding Elementary School. Although in a wheelchair all her life, Ann had a zest for life and the courage to overcome many medical obstacles. Ann was a resident at Morningside Assisted Living Center and loved playing bingo and bunko.
Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Vann Stokes.
She is survived by her father; Ralph Stokes, siblings; Harris (Jean) Stokes of Griffin, Brenda (Jimmy) Lambert of Macon, Susan (Bob) Thigpen of Dublin, and Stuart (Kim) Stokes of Gay, uncle; Charles (Barbre) Stokes of Houston, TX, aunts; Betty Vann Collins of Macon, Joyce Vann of Orange Beach, Virginia Stokes of Monroe, Pollie Stokes of Eufaula, AL, nine nieces and nephews, and fifteen great nieces and nephews.
