.Annie Lillian Cawthon Thurmond, 88, of Lizella, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024. The family will have a time of visitation on Monday, November 4, 2024 from 10:00 am till service time in the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Snow’s at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Chris Minton will officiate.
Born in Jackson, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Allen Cawthon and Irene Boyd Cawthon. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Hugh James Thurmond, and siblings, Gladys Hadaway, Rena Reed, and Paul Hodges and son in law, Buddy Raby.
Mrs. Thurmond was a retired case worker with DEFACS with 25 years of service. She was a member of the Pine Forest Baptist Church and attended the Ruth Sunday School Class and assisted with the Benevolent Committee. She enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing, cross stitch and puzzles.
She is survived by her children, Mike Thurmond (Sue), LeeAnn Raby, and Tim Thurmond (Pam); Grandchildren, Clint, Kurt, Adam, Liz, Sarah, and Marcus. Six great grandchildren.
Snow’s at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
