Macon, GA—Mrs. Betty Evelyn Chatman, 86, died on Thursday evening, October 30, 2014. A Life Celebration service will be held at her church, North Macon Church of Christ, at 12 Noon, on Monday, November 3. Minister Forrest Chapman will officiate. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11AM until the hour of service, at the church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Hiawassee Mission Fund, c/o North Macon Church of Christ, 1190 Bass Road, Macon, GA 31210.
Mrs. Chatman, was born in Dixon, Tennessee. She attended Florida Christian College in Tampa, where she met her late husband, Clyde Wayne Chatman (dec. Nov. 9, 2003). Mrs. Chatman was one of twelve children, a homemaker and a preacher’s wife. She was a member of North Macon Church of Christ, and the Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by all but one of her siblings, Hazel, and her husband.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy (Debbie) Chatman; daughter, Donna (Artie) Hall; granddaughter, Kimberly Chatman; grandsons, Eric Chatman, Chris (Lauren) Hall, Daniel (Shelby) Hall; great granddaughters, Layla Hall, and Kenzie Grace Hall; and her sister, Hazel.
