Betty Joyce Swanson Green, 92, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Gene Kenner officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Joyce was born in Macon, GA to the late Georgia Hamlin Swanson and Harvey P. Swanson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Sanford Green and her sisters, Ethel Williams, Lucille Burke and Sadie Micu. Joyce attended A.L. Miller High School in Macon. She went to college at North GA College in Dahlonega, GA. She worked as a florist at Jean & Hall Florist in Macon and Forget Me Not Florist in Warner Robins.
She was a lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and was a member of the Thomasville Garden Club and Mrs. Thomasville in 1964. Joyce enjoyed decorating her home, genealogy and was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan.
Her family was the most important thing in her life and the center of everything she did and was a second mom to her children’s friends. She was a devoted and loving mother, sister, and aunt and friend.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Green and daughter, Kimberly Green and several nieces and cousins.
