Betty Allen Hart, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 17, 2017. A Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Allen officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverside United Methodist Church, 735 Pierce Ave., Macon GA 31204.
Mrs. Hart was born in Macon, Georgia to the late James Sidney and Eldora Cook Allen. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Arthur Allen, Alvin Allen, Eleanor Stockstill, David “Smokey” Allen. Betty was a member of the First Methodist Church in Milledgeville and former member of Centenary United Methodist and Riverside Methodist Church of Macon. She was a member of the Macon Civic Chorale and was an avid bowler. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Curtis Hart of Macon, two sons, Allen C. (Susan) Hart of Herndon, VA, D. Wayne (Cindy) Hart of Statesboro, GA, four grandchildren, Erin Hart, Kyle (Maria) Hart, Ashley Hart and Abby Hart, several nieces and nephews.
