

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milton R. Pipkin; her son, David M. Pipkin; daughter-in-law, Janet Pipkin; grandson, Brian D. Pipkin; and siblings Matile Kitchens, William L. Lyles, Ella Mae Carroll, Lottie Barbee, Ouida Rozier, Ruby Young, Malcolm Lyles, and O.L. Lyles, Jr.
A devoted Christian, Betty attended First Evangelical Church in Macon, where she faithfully served for many years. She shared her musical talents by playing the piano and organ and sang alongside her sister, Matile Kitchens, as part of the well-known “Lyles Sisters.” Together, they ministered through music at revivals, funerals, and senior gatherings. In her earlier years at the Nazarene Church, Betty taught Sunday School, led youth activities, directed children’s singing, and sang in the choir. Her life was a testament to her faith and love for serving others.
She is survived by her loving family: two sons, Randy N. Pipkin (Debbie) of Lizella and Greg M. Pipkin (Ann) of Eatonton; grandchildren Stephanie Williams, Paige Shadrick, Stephen Pipkin (Jessica), Eric Pipkin (Meredith), Beth Griffith, and Jill Thomas; 13 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Betty will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her musical gifts, and the love she shared with her family and community.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 14, 2025 in the chapel of Snow's @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Rev. Tim Long, Rev. Danny Lyles, and Rev. Glenn Lyles will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to First Evangelical Church, 3601 Fulton Mill Road, Macon, 31206 or Brightmoor Hospice, 115 Arkwright Landing, Macon 31210.
