Billy Michael “Mike” Hudgins, Sr., 69, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 after a battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 at 7:00pm in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Ferguson of Greenwood Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, 1801 Willamette St # 200, Eugene, OR 97401.
Mike was born in Lizella, Georgia to the late Bill and Willene Hudgins and was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Fussell Purvis and brother, George Beck Hudgins. He was employed at First Quality. Mike loved all sports, hunting, fishing and horses.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joan Collins Hudgins; three children born to him and Elaine Wilson Hudgins, Mike, Jr., Phil and Sindy Hudgins; two step children, Chris (Susan) Collins and Cindy Dumas Johnson; two grandsons; six step grandsons; and three great grandchildren.
