Billy Charles Long, 93, passed away on July 27, 2026. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026 @ 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Military Honors. Burial will be private in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Larry McLendon officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
Billy was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Charles Elliott and Leah Graham Long. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Ann Chancellor Long, his son, Eddie Charles Long, stepmom, Lila Long and sister, Betty Long Jackson. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Billy served his country in the Army National Guard as a Command Sargant Major retiring after forty-four years and retired from Robins Air Force Base with thirty-four years of service. Billy was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother.
He is survived by his son, Michael Long (Lisa); grandchildren, Brandi Michelle Garnto, Michelle Leigh (Brandon) Peterson, and Kelly Nicole (Micah) Hancock; and eight great grandchildren, sister, Carolyn (Larry) McLendon and several nieces and nephews.
