MACON – Bobby Martin Chastain, 89, died Friday, January 28, 2011 at Pine Pointe Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2011 at First Evangelical Church with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Long and the Rev. Baxter Hurley will officiate. The family will meet friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the funeral home.
Mr. Chastain was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Elizabeth Mathews Chastain and by his parents, Bert Montgomery Chastain and Ina Weems Chastain. He was born in Selma, AL and was a U. S. Army Veteran serving with the 82nd Airborne Division during World War II. For more than forty years, Mr. Chastain was sales representative with Carstarphen and Sons.
Survivors include his sons, Larry M. (Peggy) Chastain and Bobby W. (Claire) Chastain, all of Macon; his daughter-in-law, Jerita Chastain of Macon; his grandchildren, Amy Chastain of Beijing, China, Layne Chastain, Lindsey C. Pritchard and Melanie Nobles, all of Macon and six great grandchildren.
