

Carolyn Lanis Buchhammer, 69, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum with Pastor Arthur Gunn. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.
Mrs. Buchhammer was born in Montgomery, AL to the late Colie E. Cauthen and to her mother Jackie Lee Ward Holtzclaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Marcelo E. Buchhammer and father, James E. Crooms. Carolyn was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Wimbish Road.
Lanis was a 1963 graduate of Perry High School, where she was an avid basketball player on the Perry Pantherettes team for 4 years and she served as Captain of the team her senior year. Lanis was a member of the Chamber of Commerece in Macon and was past president for four years of the Medical transcriptionist association of Middle Georgia, before pursuing her career as a Registered Nurse. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
She is survived by her children, Curt Redmond (Angela Patterson) of Macon, daughter, Allison L. Walters, grandson, Jackson Curtis Redmond of Macon, two brothers, Barry Ward Crooms of Dunedin, FL and Tommy (Anita) Cauthen of St. Cloud, FL and a special niece, Londa Redmond Goode of Albany.
