Carolyn Holton Shelton, 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Tammy Humphries officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Memorial donations may be made in her honor to Forest Hills Church, 1217 Forest Hill Road, Macon GA 31210 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105.
Carolyn was born in Macon, Georgia to the late George Beecher and Marie Jordan Holton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Drexel H. Shelton and her brothers, George Holton, Jr., Neil Holton, James Holton and Darrell Holton. She retired from Allen and Lambert Insurance Company as the office manager and was formerly employed with Southern Trust in the accounting department for thirty-five years. Carolyn was a devoted member of Forest Hill Church and the Grace Sunday School Class. She enjoyed flowers and spending time with nature. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
She is survived by her daughter, Deanna Shelton Fanning of Rabun Gap, grandson, Alexander Jordan Fanning of Rabun Gap, sister-in-law, Polly Amerson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
