

Cecil Pierson Brown, Sr., 88, died Thursday, March 28, 2013. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Josh Bizzell officiating. The family will meet friends from 1:00 p.m., to service time on Wednesday at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown was born and grew up in Forsyth and had lived in Macon since 1947. He served in the 8th Troop Carrier Squadron in the 62nd Troop Carrier Unit during World War II. Mr. Brown retired from Georgia Power Company after forty-two years and was a member of the Georgia Power Company Ambassadors and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 3, the Masonic Lodge and was a member of Ingleside United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry Brown, Sr. and Annie Laurie Pierson Brown, his siblings William Henry Brown, II, Ralph S. Brown and Nell Brown Doster and by his son, Cecil Brown.
Survivors include his wife Lucile M. Brown of Macon; his daughter, Gail (Jimmy) Walker; his granddaughters, Ashley Madray and Jamie Tassa; his great grandchildren Melloy Madray, Dawson Madray, Pierce Tassa and Raleigh Tassa.
