Cecil Eugene “Gene” Whitehead Sr., 87, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Living Waters Fellowship Church. The family will greet friends from noon to service time at the church. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Butch Mullis officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Living Waters Fellowship Church, 6120 Thomaston Road, Macon GA 31220.
Gene was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Oscar Jefferson and Myrtle Glass Whitehead. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Whitehead and his siblings, Hazel (Luther) Kelley, Ray (Clara) Whitehead, Patsy (Dan) Sinclair. He was the owner and operator of Whitehead Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. Gene was member of Living Waters Fellowship Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and antique cars.
Gene is survived by his wife, Polly Ann Whitehead, son, Paul Whitehead, granddaughter, Abby Whitehead, sister, Jerrie (Johnny) Della Donna, and several nieces and nephews.
